On June 25,‌ Sarawak Skills and i-CATS University College officially signed two memorandums⁣ of understanding with China’s​ Foshan Polytechnic to collaborate on ‍customised programmes in ⁤hydrogen fuel cell technology as part⁢ of the ‘Kung Fu Workshop’ initiative.

The partnership aims to ‍leverage the expertise ​and resources ‌of ⁣all⁣ three institutions to develop ‌and offer specialised programmes in the field of hydrogen fuel cell technology. This initiative aligns with Sarawak’s clean ‌energy ambitions,‍ particularly its ‌goal to⁢ establish itself as a regional green hydrogen production hub by 2027.

The Concept of Kung⁣ Fu Workshop

Sarawak Skills ‌executive director, Hallman Sabri, emphasized the significance of the ‘Kung Fu⁢ Workshop’ branding, which ‍integrates elements of Chinese Kung Fu with vocational education⁣ concepts and industrial technology. This collaboration represents Foshan Polytechnic’s⁤ first overseas partnership, promoting international cooperation in vocational education, training,⁢ scientific innovation, and entrepreneurial development.

Furthermore, recent staff development initiatives have⁤ seen 10 teaching ‌personnel from‍ Sarawak‍ Skills and i-CATS UC complete specialized training in hydrogen technology ⁤at Foshan Polytechnic, leading to the development of new programmes such as Fuel Cell Vehicle Safety Officer and Fuel Cell Field Engineer.
