Starting in September, direct flights will be available from Yerevan to Urumqi, China, marking a significant development in air travel opportunities. China Southern Airlines will begin operating flights on the Urumqi – Yerevan – Urumqi route twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, as announced by “Armenia” International Airports” CJSC.
Ambassador Fan Yong provided additional details about the new flight schedule, stating that the flights will be carried out using a B737-800 aircraft with more than 300 seats. The outbound flight, CZ5091, will depart from Urumqi at 16:00 Beijing time and land in Yerevan at 17:35 local time. The return flight, CZ5092, will leave Yerevan at 21:50 local time and arrive in Urumqi at 07:00 Beijing time, boasting a short flight duration of just 5 hours. Notably, Armenian travelers will have the opportunity to seamlessly connect to major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, among others, on the same day.
