As SAMBO continues to establish its presence ‌in China, ⁣the initial two days of the championship were dedicated ⁤to⁣ training sessions. Jeremia Ying Ka ‌Fung, an international category referee⁢ from FIAS and the Secretary General of the Hong‍ Kong SAMBO Federation, conducted a comprehensive‌ referee seminar covering the rules of SAMBO.

Following the theoretical training, Chinese specialists ‍were given the ‍opportunity to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios​ by officiating matches during the national SAMBO championship among universities, under the guidance of their mentor. Competitions ⁤were‌ held for both men and women ​in Sport and Combat SAMBO categories.

Distinguished guests in attendance at⁣ the championship ‌included‍ Director of the Beijing ⁤General Administration of Sports ⁤Cao Tao, Vice-Chairman of the East Asian Judo Association‍ Xiong Fengshan,⁢ and Deputy Secretary of ⁣the ​Party ‌Committee and President ​of the Jilin Provincial Police College Liu Jinghui, among others.

Gong Maofu, the‍ Secretary ⁣General of the Judo ​Department of the Chinese⁤ University ⁣Sports Association, played a pivotal‍ role in the ⁤success of the tournament. His⁤ longstanding collaboration with⁢ the International SAMBO ⁣Federation laid ⁤the groundwork for the growth of SAMBO in China, ⁤leading to ⁤the ‌inaugural university championship held in ‌December last year.

In‌ a statement, Suresh Gopi, the 1st ​Vice President and‍ General Director of the SAMBO Union of Asia ​and ⁣Oceania,⁣ expressed optimism about the ‌increasing recognition of ‌SAMBO in ⁣China. The significant turnout of ⁢athletes, referees, and coaches at⁢ the championship reflects the growing‌ interest in ‍SAMBO within the Chinese sporting community. The successful‍ organization of⁤ the event is expected to inspire⁢ more individuals to ⁤engage in the practice of this beloved martial art.
