Ten speech therapy centers in Egypt, supported by the UAE, are‌ now⁤ aiding 643 young individuals‌ with disabilities, offering vital assistance. ‍These‌ facilities ⁣are spread across six‌ governates and have been brought to‌ life through ⁢a collaboration between the UAE’s Zayed ⁢Higher Organisation for People of Determination‌ and Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and⁤ Sports, according to state news agency Wam. This initiative was ‌born out of an agreement between the ‌ZHO and the ⁢ministry to enhance‌ Egypt’s existing network‌ of speech therapy centers and to organize a medical convoy to provide care to disabled individuals and⁤ their families.

Incorporating state-of-the-art equipment for speech‌ therapy sessions,‍ skill‌ enhancement, aiding those with learning challenges,‌ sensory integration, and psychological evaluations, these ⁢new centers are focused on making a difference. The recruitment process is currently ongoing to bring‌ on board⁢ specialized staff for these speech⁤ therapy centers, with plans ‌to open an ‍additional 20 centers by the year’s end as part of an ⁣expansion ‍strategy.

The goal‌ of the⁢ UAE-Egypt partnership project is to offer support to ⁢individuals⁣ with various conditions ⁢like autism, delayed speech, speech ‍impairments, hyperactivity disorders, attention deficit disorders, and learning ⁣disabilities. Moreover, the broader ‌initiative includes raising awareness through programs and ‌workshops designed for individuals with disabilities and their families.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and⁣ Sports, commended the joint efforts of ⁣the XHO and the ministry in enhancing the lives of young ‌individuals ⁢with disabilities and promoting‍ social inclusivity. Abdullah‍ Al Humaidan, ⁢the secretary general ⁢of ZHO, expressed optimism about the positive impact of the new centers ⁢on the communities they serve. ZHO serves as an umbrella organization for humanitarian entities ‍and social⁢ services in Abu Dhabi focusing⁢ on enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing rehabilitation, education,‌ training, and counseling to ensure their active⁤ participation in society.
