The event was held in celebration of the Duanwu ‍Festival, also known as the Dragon Boat Festival.

During the event, 51 students and teachers from Iowa engaged in various activities to learn about Chinese traditions and customs associated with the festival. They had the chance​ to ‍make fragrance sachets, paper cut works featuring dragon⁢ boats, and Zongzi, ⁢which are glutinous⁢ rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves.

The cultural exchange was a valuable experience for both the Chinese‍ hosts and the American visitors. It provided an opportunity for‌ cultural immersion and mutual understanding​ between the two groups. By actively participating in ⁢traditional activities, the students and teachers from Iowa gained firsthand knowledge of‍ Chinese heritage and traditions.
