The Jordanian Military Sports Union in Climbing Event in Russia

A mountain climbing team from the Directorate of Military⁤ Sports Union ​recently took ⁤part ⁣in the Military World Championship for Climbing for Peace, ⁢which was held in Terskol, ⁣Russia ‍by the International Military ‍Sports Council (CISM). A total of 13 countries participated in⁤ this event.

The team representing the Jordanian Armed Forces –⁢ Arab Army (JAF) successfully reached the summit of Mount Elbrus, the ⁢highest peak in the Caucasus Mountains of Russia. Standing tall at ‌an impressive altitude of 5,416 meters, Mount Elbrus is⁤ recognized as the tenth highest peak in the world. The achievement was reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

During their⁣ climb, the JAF​ team proudly raised​ the Jordanian​ flag ​along with a⁤ photo of His Majesty ‍the King, the Crown Prince, and the late King Hussein bin Talal, showcasing their patriotic spirit and ‌determination.

The organizing committee of the⁤ championship commended the ⁢Jordanian⁤ climbers for their skill and resilience. Despite it being their⁣ inaugural participation, the team successfully conquered the challenges of navigating icy rock sections, coping with extreme oxygen deprivation, enduring frigid temperatures dropping to as low as minus 7 degrees Celsius, and adapting to poor visibility conditions during both day and night.

The team’s perseverance ⁢and⁤ dedication⁢ were ⁣truly ‌admirable, earning ⁣them respect and recognition from ‍their fellow⁢ competitors and organizers alike. This participation‌ not only highlighted Jordan’s military prowess on an⁣ international platform but also showcased the team’s unity, spirit, and zeal ⁤for adventure and exploration.
