As climate change‍ continues to impact our environment, it is crucial for residents to ⁣be prepared for the possibility of even more severe monsoon storms in the future.

What Causes Monsoon Deluges in Lahore, Punjab?

Monsoon deluges in Lahore, Punjab are primarily caused by ⁢the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD), a ‌climate ⁢phenomenon characterized by sea surface temperature anomalies⁢ in the Indian Ocean. More monsoon rains and heavy falls likely in Lahore, Punjab

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has projected additional sporadic monsoon showers accompanied by intense downpours ‍and strong winds in Lahore and other parts ‍of Punjab starting Wednesday night through ⁣Friday.

A significant low-pressure‌ system hovering over Nagarparkar and neighboring coastal regions of‍ Sindh is⁢ set to shift towards the west/southwest direction within‌ the next 24 hours. This movement will ‍stimulate robust monsoon currents impacting southern ‍Pakistan while a westerly‌ wave‌ will influence northern areas from tomorrow onwards.

As a result, varying intensities of rainfall ‌are expected in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Peshawar among other locations across Punjab.
