Nigerian Army Dominates Armed Forces Games with 172 Gold Medals, Takes Overall Victory

The Nigerian ‌Army ⁢emerged⁤ as the overall champion ⁢at the Armed Forces Games 2024, clinching 172 gold ⁢medals at the event ⁤held in Kaduna state. The total number ⁣of medals⁣ secured by the Army reached 264, which included 60 silver and 32 bronze medals.

Following the Nigerian Army,⁣ the Nigerian Air Force ​finished second ⁢with ‍an impressive haul of 187 ‍medals, consisting of 33⁤ gold, 103‌ silver, ⁣and ​51 bronze. The ‍Nigerian Navy secured⁣ third place with a ​total of 129‌ medals, including 18‌ gold, ​43 silver, and 68 bronze.

Over 1,600 athletes from the⁢ Army, Air Force, and Navy participated in⁤ the sporting event ‌themed “Enhancing ⁣Military Professionalism through Sports.” This competition is⁢ seen as⁣ preparation for​ the upcoming Africa Military ⁤Games scheduled to be held in Abuja⁣ in November of this ⁢year.
