Hyderabad in Chaos: Heavy Rains Bring Traffic Jams and Waterlogging

The India ⁢Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a yellow alert for potential thunderstorms in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and‌ Medchal-Malkajgiri districts on Wednesday due to the current weather conditions. Over the next⁢ four days, the forecast indicates a ​”partly ‍cloudy sky with light ​to moderate ​rain⁤ or thundershowers.” ⁤The​ heavy rains on Tuesday evening ‌caused widespread waterlogging and ⁣severe traffic disruptions ⁢across ⁤Hyderabad. Traffic snarls were reported at various locations by the Hyderabad⁤ Traffic Police, including Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills,​ Taj​ Krishna, and major congestion was observed from Khairatabad to VV Statue route.

The city’s IT ⁣corridor in Gachibowli was significantly affected as well. Cyberabad Traffic Police reported substantial delays ⁣and bumper-to-bumper traffic along⁣ the ‌Secretariat-Liberty-Himayathnagar ​road. On October 1st, Gandhari ​in Kamareddy recorded 97.3 mm of rainfall while​ Patigadda in Hyderabad received 40 mm of moderate rain.
