This year,⁤ Shanghai aims to launch an notable network of ⁢up to 10,000 new 5G-A base⁣ stations. This initiative is anticipated to manage ‍over 70 percent of the city’s internet traffic via its robust 5G infrastructure, solidifying Shanghai’s leading status in China for base station ⁣density.

Advancements in Optical Networks and Broadband

in parallel with​ thes efforts, the city plans⁤ to elevate its optical transport network sites per⁤ every 10,000 residents ‌to a target of 4.5 by year’s end. Moreover, fixed broadband users are expected to‍ experience an average increase in bandwidth ⁣reaching up to 470 megabits per second, while there’s a goal set for internet data centers aiming at housing around 620,000 standard racks. The action plan also emphasizes diversifying ‍cross-border private line products aimed at reducing data ⁣transfer⁤ expenses for businesses.

to facilitate more efficient​ international connectivity within industrial zones like Lin-gang Special Area—part​ of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade zone—the city will test ​innovative models such as “group buying” dedicated cross-border lines tailored specifically for enterprises.

The initiative promises specialized services catering not just to enterprise customers but also⁢ foreign nationals and​ various demographic groups such as senior citizens and students during events like ‍the China International Import Expo. This ‌strategic framework is resolute enhances applications⁢ in key domains ⁢including industrial networking, low-altitude economies—such as drones—and ⁤advanced artificial intelligence alongside humanoid robotics.
