Simaero recently announced the certification of its first A320 ceo/neo full-flight simulator (FFS) at its Changsha Training Centre in China by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The partnership between Simaero and China Simulation Sciences Co (CSS) represents a significant advancement in local aviation training. This achievement also marks the first instance of a Chinese training device manufacturer receiving EASA certification, opening the door for additional FFS devices.
In January 2024, Simaero’s A320ceo/neo FFS initially received certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). Notably, this simulator is the first in Hunan province to be granted both CAAC and EASA certifications, establishing its position among a limited number in China that meet the criteria set by both aviation authorities.
This FFS is also the inaugural training device at Changsha’s newly established six-bay training center. The company has additional simulator leases in the pipeline for China and its other global training facilities.
Nicolas Mouté, Simaero’s CEO, expressed pride in the team’s ability to achieve ambitious objectives and set new standards in pilot training through effective collaboration with manufacturers and regulatory bodies. He highlighted the successful partnership between European and Chinese teams as instrumental in achieving this milestone.
Following the EASA certification, Simaero intends to incorporate the simulator into its EASA ATO (Approved Training Organisation) certificate. This move will enhance the company’s training offerings in Southeast Asia, solidifying its position as a premier choice for cadets and pilots seeking comprehensive training solutions.
