This ‌five-day event will be a showcase ​of talent from ⁣around the globe, with over 1,700 athletes and⁤ 130 teams coming together for fierce competition.

Star​ athlete Ella Onojuvwevwo, fresh off ⁣her impressive performance at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, ⁢is ready to⁢ make her mark in ‌the 400-meter races in Lima. Currently ranked​ No.2 in ⁢the world‌ with a‍ personal ‌best time of 50.57 seconds, Onojuvwevwo has been‌ a standout U20 runner throughout the season. In her last​ appearance⁣ at the U20 ⁢Championships ​in 2021, she played a crucial ⁤role in securing gold for Nigeria’s mixed and women’s ​4×400-meter relay⁣ teams. Her journey ⁢at ‍this year’s​ championships kicks off on Wednesday with ⁤the heats of the 400m race.

Joining Onojuvwevwo are two incoming freshmen ⁤who recently started classes but are already set to represent their respective nations on this international​ stage.

Paul Catalanatto comes into the championships⁣ with‍ an ‌impressive track⁣ record, having recently achieved a‍ new ⁢personal best toss of 71.35 meters (234’1″) ⁣in javelin throw.
