SEPANG – August 28, ​2024 — AirAsia‌ is making significant strides in the second half of ⁣the year by introducing two new routes connecting Penang to Shenzhen and Kota Kinabalu to Shantou in China. This⁤ expansion brings the ⁢total number of⁢ routes ‍operated by AirAsia​ to/from China to 33,⁣ reinforcing its position as the leading ⁣foreign low-cost carrier ⁣in this region. Commencing on​ October 28, 2024, AirAsia Malaysia‍ (flight code ​AK) will operate four weekly ⁢flights from Penang to ​Shenzhen and⁤ three weekly flights from ‍Kota Kinabalu to Shantou starting November 16, 2024.

Special Promotional Fares for Travelers

To celebrate these new routes, AirAsia is⁣ offering promotional ​fares for ⁢travelers flying between Penang ⁤and Shenzhen ‌starting ‌at ⁤RM329 all-in one way and fares from Kota Kinabalu to Shantou starting at RM299 all-in one way. Travelers can book these flights on the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly airasia Superapp) and airasia.com until September 8, 2024. Take advantage of these special rates for travel between October 28, 2024, and March 29,2015.

Visa-Free Entry for Malaysians visiting China

All‌ Malaysian citizens⁣ are eligible for visa-free entry‌ into China for tourist ‍visits lasting up to15 days until ​the‍ end of2025.

Shenzhen and Shantou offer unique attractions like⁣ impressive ​skyscrapers and leisure escapes. Tourists can visit Free Sky‍ observatory deck on the116th floor of​ Ping An International ‌Finance Centre in Shenzhen or ⁣explore Nan’ao Island in Shantou for a relaxing break amidst busy schedules.
